Case Study

Sympathy For The Devil

Challenge

The crew for “Sympathy of the Devil” wanted to shoot ⅓ of the movie in a car. Filming an actual car scene is usually a very long and difficult process to accomplish because of barriers such as weather, street traffic, street lights, and connection/camera issues.

Solution

To streamline the production process and significantly reduce the filming time for the lengthy 35-minute car scene, the team will shoot the entire sequence inside a Vū studio. This approach allows them to leverage advanced virtual production technology, creating a controlled and dynamic environment that captures all the necessary elements in one go. By utilizing the studio’s capabilities, they can efficiently manage resources and optimize their shooting schedule, ultimately enhancing the quality of the scene while minimizing the days spent on set.

Key Stat

Saved weeks of filming this one scene by utilizing Vū One technology and their LED Wall.

”The producer found a place called Vū. We figured out we can actually do it with an LED screen and can actually shoot it beautifully as opposed to being outside in a car which is an absolute nightmare. While here at Vū we are shooting just today, 12 minutes out of the 35 minutes in one day.”
